Caramel Apple Salad

15 mins

Ingredients

3 large (about 6 cups) Firm Apples (e.g., Granny Smith & Gala), cored and diced into bite-sized pieces

1 cup Plain Yogurt

1 container Frozen Whipped Topping (Cool Whip), thawed

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Toppings and Flavor

1/2 cup Caramel Dip/Sauce (plus extra for drizzling)

1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts

Cooking Guide

1. Prepare the Apples

Dice the apples into consistent, bite-sized pieces.

2. Make the Creamy Dressing

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the thawed whipped topping and the plain yogurt. Fold them together until just combined.

Stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon.

3. Assemble the Salad

Add the diced apples and the 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to the creamy dressing base.

Gently fold the mixture together using a rubber spatula until the apples and nuts are evenly coated.

4. Finish and Chill

Pour the 1/2 cup of caramel dip over the mixture. Fold it in just a few times to create ribbons of caramel throughout the salad. Do not overmix, or the whole salad will turn brown.

Transfer the salad to a serving bowl.

Chill: Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Chilling allows the flavors to meld and the salad to firm up.

5. Serving

Just before serving, drizzle the top of the salad with extra caramel sauce and sprinkle with a few extra walnut pieces for garnish.

Enjoy your sweet and creamy salad!
